Solomon: Durham Has Subpoenaed, Questioned Witnesses Before a D.C. Grand Jury

Investigative journalist John Solomon spoke to Sean Hannity on his radio show on Friday about the rather explosive statements made by Attorney General William Barr during his interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham last week that no one in the mainstream media has reported on. I was even surprised at how little attention many conservatives paid to what were extraordinary remarks.
As the two spoke, Solomon made reference to the fact that U.S. Attorney John Durham has been subpoenaing witnesses and that several have already appeared before the grand jury. (It was reported recently that Durham had driven down to Washington, D.C. in March because the investigation was ongoing, but there had been no reference to what specifically was the reason for his trip.)
Solomon said, “I’ve seen some evidence of the grand jury work [Durham’s] in the last four, five, six weeks. It’s been going on in the middle of the pandemic. And I think we’re going to get a better sense of what that looks like…”
Hannity abruptly cuts him off to say, “Well, that’s the first time you’ve told me that. What do you know?”
“I know of some witnesses that received subpoenas, I know of some witnesses that have appeared before the grand jury.”
Hannity asks if this is taking place in D.C.
“D.C. is my understanding,” replied Solomon. “They’ve got to build this case methodically and they have a good starting point. We know there was a crime clearly identified in the IG’s report. A [sic] FBI lawyer changed a document to deceive the court. They literally, fraudulently changed a document to deceive the court. That’s a crime. I believe they will start there and they will wind back. Why did that person do that? Who else was involved and who instructed that and what other intentional acts did we learn about that occurred in the same manner?
Hannity asks, “What about all the people that signed the FISA applications knowing that the top of a FISA application says verified and none of it was verified? What about the people who put their signature on it like James Comey?”
“Yeah. And Andrew McCabe and Rod Rosenstein,” Solomon noted. “Every time you played that Rod Rosenstein clip on your show, you’re reminded, ‘Oh, we did this right. We did this right.’ Those guys lied to us when they said that. They did nothing right. Nothing about this was right. And last week, what did we learn. 29 out of 29 FISAs reviewed. All of them wrong.”
Solomon continued, “The FBI has not been following the law for a long time on this and there has to be a reckoning. I don’t believe that those people will be prosecuted for signing the documents. Now, there may be other questions, right? False testimony is an area that I believe Durham has been focusing on, based on the grand jury subpoenas and questions that I’ve heard. It’s possible that some of the people that gave false representations to Congress could get prosecuted for those false representations. That’s an area I’d keep an eye on.”
Who gave false testimony? We know that John Brennan gave false testimony on several occasions. Comey and McCabe lied to Congress as well.

The Attorney General said, “My own view is that the evidence shows that we’re not dealing with just mistakes and sloppiness. There’s something far more troubling here. And we’re going to get to the bottom of it.” And he still considers the deep state’s assault on the President to be “one of the greatest travesties in American history.” These two statements, in my opinion, were the most important takeaways from the interview. Durham’s investigation has been going on for nearly a year, even longer by some accounts, and Barr remains convinced that the Democrats worked to sabotage Trump’s presidency. It’s easy for us to become discouraged and say ‘nothing will happen’ because, outside of a few leaks from the CIA or other similar entities, we never hear anything. But Barr’s response to this question reassures us that they’re on it and that nothing Durham’s team has uncovered so far has changed his mind.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — It is darkness like you’ve never seen. The air you breathe could kill you in moments. All of your fire support — air, armor, artillery — is useless. The walls and ceiling could collapse. Communications will fail. A wrong turn leaves you utterly alone.
Going underground, in dark, tight spaces, can trigger feelings of helplessness in even experienced troops. It is the most primitive and close combat a fighter may face.
“You think you’ve been in a dark environment?” former special operations soldier-turned trainer said. “Wait until you get into a deep underground facility and the power’s cut. That is scary.”
Welcome to the subterranean.
It is happening in Syria now. Iraqi forces faced it in Mosul. Russia, China, North Korea, Iran all boast complex facilities laced with reinforced command and control and the ability to deploy thousands of troops, tanks, missiles and even launch planes from underground runways.
As with guerrilla fighters in Vietnam, militant groups from Islamic State to Hamas to rebel groups in Africa have expanded their use of the underground, whether in remote caves or by burrowing their way through cities such as the city of Darayya, Syria, for what became tunnel-on-tunnel warfare with the regime.
“They’ve gone underground to match our overmatch,” said retired Army Maj. John Spencer, chairman of Urban Warfare Studies with the Modern War Institute at West Point.
In the Zhawar Kili complex, Navy SEALs encountered a cave system in the early days of the Afghan War. They thought it would take a day to clear. Nine days later they had searched 70 reinforced tunnels, destroying 50 of them, including 60 structures inside a facility that included a mosque, repair shops, a medical facility, and communications center.
And that was far from civilian populations. Armies today do not have that luxury.
“I think it starts with the likelihood of warfare in a city,” said Dakota Wood, Heritage Foundation senior research fellow, and retired Marine officer. “Almost all futures documents predict an urban environment wave.”
Nearly any city troops may enter tomorrow has mazes of sewers, telecommunications lines and subway tunnels beneath its streets, concealing untold threats.
They may vary in type and scope, but all underground terrain accomplishes a major feat: reducing, balancing, even negating U.S. military technological superiority.
Minor nods to underground training, from small tunnels or trenches used by opposing fighters at Army and Marine Corps training centers, have been a feature for years. Serious manning, equipping, funding and training across the force have been lacking.
“From a mere tool of war, underground warfare has evolved into a global security threat of concern to all states,” Daphné Richemond-Barak wrote in her 2017 book, “Underground Warfare.”
The tactical
Marine Corps’ experts in underground fighting in Twentynine Palms, California, declined to be interviewed for this piece. Experts at their tactical operations group were involved in force-on-force training at the time of reporting and were unavailable for comment.
But news reports reference side-by-side tactical level underground training by Marines with Israeli counter-tunnel work and with Norwegian troops related to weapons stocks stored in massive caves to protect NATO against potential Russian aggression.
The Army is taking a multi-prong to attack the threat. All those interviewed applauded it for the focus on a terrain that will surely plague commanders and troops.
At least two years ago, the Army assessed its underground combat capabilities and found gaps.
With knowledge gleaned from the battlefield and years of study it quickly updated manuals, pushed funding and deployed training teams with the Asymmetric Warfare Group with fighting know-how to spread the gospel across brigades.
This is driven by the Army’s vision for being prepared to fight in any terrain across the globe against near-peer threats and non-state actors.
Top leadership has emphasized the need for troops to be ready to fight in megacities and the underground is a feature that cannot be ignored.

The tech it takes to fight subterranean
A range of updated technology is now used for underground spaces and threats.
“The bottom line is that the subterranean environment is really a facet of the infrastructure,” said Army Col. Timothy F. O’Brien, AWG commander.
Military Times spent nearly a week alongside soldiers of the 1st Brigade Combat Team of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in early February for some of the initial training that AWG built for Army’s Maneuver Center of Excellence and is bringing to at least a reported 26 of 31 active brigade combat teams across the Army.
Officials did not confirm exact numbers of how many brigades have or will receive the training, but the goal is to spread the fundamentals across the force.
The paratroopers were getting hands-on experience from the tactical manual, “Small Unit Training in Subterranean Environments,” which was published in late 2017, updating training practices that had changed little since the early 1990s and even back to World War II.
O’Brien stressed that elements of subterranean have been included in training for years. Much of the company and below training conducted by the estimated 160 paratroopers at Fort Bragg consisted of building on standard infantry skills, such as room clearing.
But, AWG trainers, which include uniformed personnel and civilian contractors, many who served in special operations forces units, add on important details and layers of limitations that soldiers will face underground.
And those reached down to life necessities.
“If you can’t breathe, you can’t fight, always remember that,” was a repeated mantra one trainer drilled for soldiers dealing with clean air supply and chemical threats.
Trainer identities were withheld for security concerns.
Soldiers were shown types of breathing devices, specialized meters for detecting chemical and other threats. Some systems could keep an experienced soldier breathing for close to an hour. But panicked, shallow breathing can reduce that to half the time.
Tiny changes can make a big difference. While many seasoned soldiers may be used to shouting commands or physically bumping the soldier in front of them during tight, room-clearing exercises, the addition of gas masks may mean soldiers have to use exaggerated head nods or squeeze a soldier’s shoulder to signal what to do next.

Convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein has been charged with a new sexual assault count in Los Angeles stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred in 2010, according to the county’s district attorney’s office. If convicted as charged in the amended complaint, Weinstein faces up to 29 years in state prison, according to the D.A.’s office.
Elon Musk’s mocked fears amid the COVID-19 pandemic, tweeting that “the coronavirus panic is dumb”. The outbreak has sent the global economy into turmoil, forcing many to work from home and many more into the unemployment lines while damaging markets worldwide. SpaceX and Tesla founder Elon Musk tweeted a meme showing an asteroid smashing into Earth while an astronaut on the moon exclaims: “Oh God, The Economy!”, adding a mysterious “But actually” caption. The meme is apparently dedicated to pointing out the absurdity of making money more important than human compassion amid the coronavirus outbreak. Musk’s tweet left some netizens guessing why the billionaire shared the meme using those precise words.
The woman who accused Biden of sexual assault files criminal complaint with police. Tara Reade, a former staffer to then-Senator Joe Biden, has reportedly filed a formal criminal complaint against the now-presidential candidate over an alleged sexual assault from the early 90s. The left-wing mainstream media has largely ignored the allegations against Biden, who once said on the issue of women coming forward with allegations of sexual misconduct, “For a woman to come forward in the glaring lights of focus, nationally, you’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she’s talking about is real, whether or not she forgets facts, whether or not it’s been made worse or better over time.”
U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told major airlines on Friday he wants them to repay some of the $25 billion in cash grants the U.S. Congress approved last month to cover payroll costs as airlines weather an unprecedented crisis due to the coronavirus, three industry officials briefed on the matter told Reuters. The Treasury said in a statement Mnuchin will not require passenger air carriers that will receive $100 million in payroll assistance or less to provide compensation and “funds will be available promptly upon approval of their applications.”
Reports earlier on Friday said that Treasury would not seek warrants from smaller regional carriers, which had urged the government not to demand compensation. Mnuchin spoke with the chief executives of major airlines in separate calls on Friday and told them the department was offering 70% of the aid in grants that would not need to be repaid, and 30% in low-interest loans for which the airlines would be required to offer warrants, the sources said.
Washington Post reporter Darran Simon was found dead Thursday in his apartment, according to a memo sent to staffers. The cause of death has not been announced. Simon covered government and politics at WaPo, according to a Jan. 30, announcement from WaPo. Simon previously worked as a senior news writer at CNN, the announcement noted.
Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano of Rome called on his fellow clergy to perform a mass exorcism on Holy Saturday, the day between Good Friday, Jesus’ crucifixion, and Easter Sunday, celebrating his resurrection. “In these modern times of terrible tribulation, when the pandemic has deprived Catholics of Holy Mass and the Sacraments, the Evil One has gone into a frenzy and multiplied his attacks to tempt souls into sin,” Viganò wrote in a letter shared by LifeSiteNews. “These blessed days of Holy Week, which used to be the ideal time to go to Confession to prepare ourselves for our Easter Communion, now see us locked inside our houses, but they cannot stop us praying to Our Lord.”
Chloroquine for the 2019 novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. Chloroquine is the ionophore that gets the zinc into the cells. In vitro in zinc will destroy most viruses up to and including Hepatitis C. In the current episode of novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) emergence, we find a spectacular example of possible repositioning of drugs, particularly chloroquine. This drug has multiple activities. At the time of the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)-associated coronavirus epidemic in 2003, several molecules were tested to assess their effectiveness against this virus. Among these, teicoplanin , an antistaphylococcal agent, had proven efficacy in vitro, and this was also the case for chloroquine, at a 50% effective concentration. These findings ended up being forgotten because of the disappearance of SARS for reasons that are neither clear nor explained. The novel coronavirus currently isolated in China has been, with staggering speed, evaluated regarding its sensitivity to already used drugs. Thus, the new antiviral drug remdesivir as well as chloroquine, were found to be effective in preventing replication of this virus. Chloroquine is perhaps one of the most prescribed drugs in the world. Hence, its possible use both in prophylaxis in people exposed to the novel coronavirus and as a curative treatment will probably be promptly evaluated by our Chinese colleagues. If clinical data confirm the biological results, the novel coronavirus-associated disease will have become one of the simplest and cheapest to treat and prevent infectious respiratory diseases.
