He pushes this further by pointing at sites where the physical record is genuinely odd, including vitrified stone and anomalous readings at certain ruins, and asks whether the destruction described in those texts might have been literal. Mainstream archaeology attributes the vitrification at hillforts and similar sites to intense but conventional fires, and reads these texts as religious literature shaped by real but ordinary disasters. That counterposition deserves to sit alongside the film’s claims rather than be left out.

Where the Quantum Argument Comes In

It is worth sitting with rather than dismissing, because the underlying observation holds regardless of the mechanism. Societies that recognize their own failure modes behave differently from societies that do not.
