When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.” — Lao Tzu

THE FIRST STEPS ON THE OTHER SIDE

August carried the feeling of a threshold. Between the intensity of the eclipse corridor, the emotional clearing many experienced, and the larger sense of acceleration moving through the collective, it often felt as though we were being asked to release something before we fully understood what would replace it. Old patterns became more visible. Relationships shifted. Questions we had managed to postpone became harder to ignore. For some, the month felt energizing and expansive; for others, exhausting and strangely disorienting. Often, it was both.

September brings a noticeably different invitation. The movement does not stop, but its character begins to change. Prune Harris describes this transition beautifully as moving from “the flying into the walking”—the extraordinary energies of the previous months beginning to land in our bodies, choices, relationships, and everyday lives. Lee Harris similarly describes past energetic purges as beginning to finalize, accompanied by renewed motivation and a greater ability to look forward. Emmanuel Dagher sees September as a period of metamorphosis and freedom, with the first half of the month turning us inward before confidence, direction, and enthusiasm strengthen later.

Taken together, the message is surprisingly consistent. September is not simply another month of clearing. It is the month when integration begins turning into creation. We may not yet see the entire road ahead, but we are beginning to recognize which direction it travels. August changed the landscape. September asks us to take our first conscious steps through it.

THE LANDING | WHAT AUGUST LEFT BEHIND

Before we begin moving forward, however, there is a landing. The opening days of September may still carry some of August’s emotional residue: fatigue, heightened sensitivity, unexpected memories, changing relationships, or the peculiar feeling that something has ended even when we cannot quite explain what it was. Several of this month’s sources describe this transitional state in different language. Alexander Quinn speaks of grief arriving before the personality understands what has completed, while JING describes autumn grief as something that can surface before the mind has found the story for it.

There is an important distinction here. Not every uncomfortable feeling requires investigation, and not every ending requires repair. Sometimes change needs time to become embodied. This is where Prune Harris’s idea of landing becomes especially meaningful. After months of acceleration, the question changes from What is happening to me? to How will I live differently because of what has happened? The transformation becomes less abstract and increasingly visible through ordinary choices—where we place our time, whom we allow close to us, what we continue supporting, and what we quietly stop carrying.

Emmanuel Dagher describes September as a time when old agreements reach their expiration date. These may be literal agreements, but they may also be roles, expectations, identities, obligations, or patterns of accommodation that once served a purpose. Completion does not invalidate what came before. A relationship, career, belief, or version of ourselves can have been entirely appropriate for one chapter and still not belong in the next. Jo Figueras captures this paradox through September’s numerological symbolism: a month of completion occurring within a year of beginnings—the 1 inside the 9.

Perhaps that is September’s first lesson: sometimes the first act of beginning is finishing.

THE ART OF DISCERNMENT | WHAT SURVIVED THE FIRE?

If August was a forge, September is the jeweler’s flame. JING uses this metaphor to describe the movement from broad, intense transformation toward something smaller, more deliberate, and more precise. The raw material has already been heated. September is not necessarily asking us to melt everything down again. It asks us to look carefully at what remains and decide what deserves refinement. Her question may be one of the most useful for the month: “What here is actually worth refining?”

This matters because there can be a temptation during periods of rapid change to interpret every difficulty as evidence that something must be discarded. A relationship becomes uncomfortable, so perhaps it must end. A project encounters resistance, so perhaps it is no longer aligned. A familiar routine suddenly feels uninspiring, so perhaps we need to reinvent everything. But discernment is more subtle than rejection. Sometimes a relationship needs one honest conversation. Sometimes a project needs one final revision. Sometimes something survived the fire precisely because it belongs in what comes next.

September therefore asks us to distinguish between what is complete and what is unfinished. Between what drains us and what challenges us to grow. Between attachment to the familiar and commitment to something genuinely valuable. Even discernment itself requires discernment; as JING cautions, precision can easily become criticism when we begin looking for problems simply because we have become skilled at finding them.

The objective is not to carry less simply for the sake of carrying less. It is to carry more consciously.

INNER AUTHORITY | THE COMPASS CHANGES HANDS

One of the strongest threads running through nearly every September forecast is the movement toward internal authority. Isabeau Maxwell speaks about stronger knowing and less doubt. Emmanuel Dagher describes diminishing tolerance for inauthenticity and people-pleasing. Prune Harris emphasizes both the completeness of the individual and the importance of finding the people with whom our authentic gifts belong. Other sources describe stepping away from collective emotional fields, external validation, habitual conditioning, and the constant need for someone else to tell us what our experience means.

Inner authority, however, should not be confused with certainty. Nor does following intuition mean abandoning reason. Mature intuition is often quieter than impulse. It can coexist with evidence, curiosity, logic, and the willingness to change our minds. Isabeau’s framing is particularly useful here: melding logic with energy and knowing. The objective is not to replace one external authority with an unquestioned internal voice. It is to develop a more coherent relationship among what we observe, what we know, what we feel, and what experience has taught us.

Prune adds another important dimension. Becoming more internally anchored does not require withdrawing from community. In fact, the opposite may be true. When we no longer need other people to continually confirm our identity, we become freer to meet them as they actually are. Individual sovereignty and meaningful belonging are not opposing ideas. Healthy communities are built by people capable of standing within themselves while recognizing the different gifts, perspectives, and experiences of others.

The compass is changing hands. September asks us to become increasingly responsible for where we point it.

SEPTEMBER 10–12 | THE TURN

If there is one period worth circling this month, it is September 10–12. An unusual number of independent forecasts converge around this window as a change in direction. Uranus stations retrograde around September 10, Mercury moves into Libra, Venus enters Scorpio, and the Virgo New Moon arrives within the same general window. Jo Figueras describes September 10 as a major pivot; JING calls it a change in perspective; Steve Judd anticipates sudden changes of opinion, course, or direction.

The significance may be less about a dramatic external event than a change in orientation. Something we have been considering suddenly looks different. Information arrives that alters a decision. A situation that seemed confusing becomes easier to read. We recognize that something is finished. Or perhaps we simply realize that we are no longer willing to proceed in the same way.

The Virgo New Moon reinforces the practical nature of the shift. Rather than grand declarations, this energy favors concrete adjustments: changing a routine, repairing a system, establishing a boundary, having the conversation, beginning the practice, or finally making the decision we have been circling. The months ahead may eventually reveal September 10–12 as more consequential than it appeared while we were living through it.

The question on one side of this window is What am I completing? The question on the other is What am I choosing?

THE RETURN OF CREATIVE ENERGY

Something important begins happening as September progresses: energy starts moving forward again. Lee Harris describes a renewed wave of motivation and the ability to make changes after an extended period of clearing. Emmanuel Dagher similarly sees the second half of September bringing greater confidence, direction, and enthusiasm. Another September forecast describes a mid-month Rückenwindwelle, or “tailwind wave”—an energetic push toward creativity and longer-term development. Different language, same essential movement: the emphasis begins shifting from processing the past toward participating in the future.

This does not necessarily mean a sudden burst of relentless productivity. In fact, September repeatedly cautions against confusing returning energy with unlimited capacity. JING makes an excellent point: just because energy returns does not mean the body has finished recovering. The opportunity is not to refill every newly opened space with activity. It is to become more selective about what receives our restored attention.

Lee Harris offers a particularly useful sequence: clearing out → inviting in → receiving. For many of us, the first stage has received disproportionate attention. We have become very good at identifying patterns, releasing attachments, healing wounds, questioning conditioning, and examining ourselves. But eventually transformation asks a different question: What do you want to build?

September may be where that question becomes harder to avoid. We move from fixing ourselves toward creating from ourselves.

RELATIONSHIPS ARE REORGANIZING

Relationships are one of the clearest places where this changing internal landscape may become visible. Lee Harris describes relationships moving toward a new resonance—some deepening, some changing form, some pausing, and others completing when an upgrade is no longer possible. Emmanuel’s “old agreements” appear here again, while JING notes declining tolerance for circular conversations, undefined commitments, and situations in which accommodation has simply become expected.

But September does not appear to be asking us to divide people into those who are “aligned” and those who are not. That would simply replace one form of judgment with another. Sometimes changing resonance requires separation. Sometimes it requires a boundary. Sometimes it requires greater honesty. And sometimes two people discover that the relationship becomes stronger once neither is performing an outdated version of themselves.

Prune’s emphasis on the individual and the herd becomes particularly relevant here. We need both autonomy and belonging. As we become clearer about who we are, we may also become clearer about who our people are—not because they think exactly as we do, but because authenticity is possible in their presence. There is less need to shrink, persuade, perform, rescue, or be rescued.

The relationships capable of accompanying us into the next chapter may be the ones that allow everyone involved to keep becoming.

THE EQUINOX | BALANCE, VOICE & EXPRESSION

The September Equinox on September 22/23 offers a natural checkpoint. Astronomically, it marks the Sun’s crossing of the celestial equator and the seasonal transition toward autumn in the Northern Hemisphere and spring in the Southern. Symbolically, the near-balance of light and darkness has long made the Equinox an invitation to examine balance within our own lives: effort and rest, independence and relationship, giving and receiving, movement and stillness.

Jo Figueras describes the transition from Virgo into Libra as moving from building the foundation toward considering how our choices exist alongside the needs of others. JING asks us to examine where our time, energy, and consideration are actually going. This makes the Equinox less a destination than an accounting. Does the distribution of our energy reflect what we say matters most?

The final week then becomes increasingly expressive. The Aries Full Moon around September 26 brings themes of independence and self-assertion, while Mars moving into Leo around September 28 emphasizes confidence, creativity, visibility, and action within the astrological frameworks we have been following. What has been quietly clarified throughout the month may now become more difficult to keep internal.

September therefore begins with landing and ends with expression. Balance does not mean remaining motionless between two possibilities. Sometimes balance provides the stable center from which we can finally move.

THE BIGGER ARC | SEPTEMBER AS A BRIDGE

September increasingly looks less like an isolated chapter and more like connective tissue between two larger phases. Several forecasts extend the themes beginning now into autumn, winter, or even the next several years. Emmanuel Dagher describes a longer initiation continuing beyond September. Mariya suggests that some of the themes emerging this month could preview developments unfolding over approximately the next three years. Jo Figueras ends with an evocative image: September prepares the wings that will carry us into October.

That does not mean we need to predict what October—or the years ahead—will bring. If anything, September’s message argues against rushing that far forward. We may be standing at a point where the direction is becoming visible while the destination remains intentionally undefined. The task is to strengthen the foundations from which future choices will be made.

This may be why September feels simultaneously like an ending and a beginning. It is neither entirely one nor the other. It is the space where lessons become choices, choices become direction, and direction eventually becomes a different life.

September may be the quiet architecture beneath what comes next.

CONSCIOUS PRACTICES | WALKING THE NEW PATH

September’s practices do not need to be complicated. The month’s entire progression can become a practice in itself: land, complete, discern, choose, create, connect, receive. Give yourself enough stillness to recognize what August actually changed. Finish something that has been occupying unnecessary energetic space. Before releasing something difficult, ask whether it is truly complete or simply asking to be handled differently. Then make one clear choice that reflects who you are becoming.

Protect the space created by that choice. Spend time in nature. Walk. Breathe. Sleep when your body asks for sleep. Reduce unnecessary information when the collective field becomes loud. Notice where gratitude changes your relationship with the past. Lee Harris’s emphasis on gratitude is particularly meaningful here: we do not need to reject previous versions of ourselves in order to move beyond them. What we have lived can become foundation rather than baggage.

And then create something. It does not have to be monumental. Write the first page. Make the call. Plant something. Rearrange the room. Begin the practice. Have the conversation. Take one step toward the project that keeps returning to your awareness. Conscious creation is rarely one enormous act. More often, it is a series of small choices repeatedly made in the same direction.

Most importantly, leave some space unfilled. Receiving is also a conscious practice. We do not have to hustle the next chapter into existence. Sometimes our responsibility is simply to make room for it.

CLOSING REFLECTIONS | LEARNING TO WALK DIFFERENTLY

There are moments in every transition when the most dramatic change has already occurred, yet the new reality still feels unfamiliar. We know something is different. We may even know that we are different. But knowing how to live from that difference takes time. Perhaps that is where September finds us.

The invitation this month is not to race toward whatever comes next. It is to become more conscious of what we are carrying as we move toward it. Some things have completed. Some deserve another chance. Some require refinement. Some need greater care. And some may surprise us by revealing that they were never meant to be left behind at all.

We do not need the entire path illuminated before taking the next step. Inner authority is not the ability to predict every turn in the road. It is the growing capacity to meet each turn without abandoning ourselves—to listen without surrendering discernment, to change without rejecting our past, to belong without diminishing our individuality, and to create without forcing the outcome.

August changed the landscape. September changes the way we move through it.

Perhaps that is enough for now.

To walk differently.

To choose more consciously.

And to leave enough space for what is already beginning to find its way toward us.

September 2026 energy report AUDIO review | A DEEPER CONVERSATION ON THE SEPTEMBER ENERGIES

For the first time, we are expanding the Monthly Energy Report into an audio conversation, creating space to explore the themes of the month in a more reflective and personal way. September’s discussion moves beyond the individual forecasts and celestial markers to consider what these energies may mean within our own lives—how we recognize what has completed, discern what still belongs, navigate changing relationships, listen more closely to our inner knowing, and consciously choose where our energy goes next.

At the heart of this conversation is the idea that September is when integration begins turning into creation. Rather than focusing on prediction or what may happen in the world around us, the audio remains firmly centered on consciousness, the heart, and our own participation in the journey. It is an invitation to slow down, listen inward, and consider a deceptively simple question: What are we ready to create from who we have now become?
