What the mainstream position holds

Atmospheric scientists maintain that persistent contrails are the product of ordinary aircraft exhaust interacting with cold humid air at altitude, and that their spreading and duration are governed by humidity and temperature at flight level rather than by any additive. They point to the growth in air traffic over recent decades as sufficient explanation for the growth in observed trails, and they hold that elevated soil metals in industrialized regions trace to mining, coal combustion, manufacturing and the natural weathering of mineral deposits, all of which yield the same elements the film highlights.

Where the two sides genuinely converge is on the existence of the underlying technology. Cloud seeding is documented, permitted and commercially operated. Solar radiation management has been formally proposed, modelled and debated in scientific literature and in policy circles. The dispute is not over whether humans can modify the atmosphere, which is settled, but over whether a large scale covert program is running right now. Why it is worth watching

This film is useful because it is specific.
