Here are the 5 Most Memorable Moments from Congress’ UFO Hearing
Three former military officials told Congress Wednesday that they believe the government knows much more about UFOs than it is telling the public.
A House Oversight subcommittee held a hearing on UFOs — officially known as unidentified aerial phenomena or UAPs — and heard mystifying testimony about unexplained object sightings and government possession of “nonhuman” biological matter.
Lawmakers on the committee, baffled by some of the testimony, repeatedly noted that UAP sightings are an issue of bipartisan concern and raise national security questions. Separately, some accused the federal government of endeavoring to conceal key UFO-related information from the public, though they did not provide evidence to support those allegations.
“The sheer number of reports, whistleblowers and stories of unidentified anomalous phenomena should raise real questions and warrant investigation and oversight. And that’s why we are here today,” Rep. Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the subcommittee, said in his opening statement. “UAPs, whatever they may be, may pose a serious threat to our military or civilian aircraft. And that must be understood.”
These UAP sightings, experts say, might be attributable to balloons, drones, optical illusions or even the blinking lights of a commercial airliner. The Pentagon has said they have seen no evidence linking UAPs to alien activity, though they have not ruled out that explanation.
Here are five of the witnesses’ main claims from the hearing:
Government is ‘Absolutely’ in Possession of UAPs
David Grusch, a former U.S. intelligence official, told the panel that he is “absolutely” certain that the federal government is in possession of UAPs, citing interviews he said he conducted with 40 witnesses over a four-year period.
The former U.S. intelligence official said he led Defense Department efforts to analyze reported UAP sightings and was informed of a “multidecade” Pentagon program that endeavored to collect and reconstruct crashed UAPs.
Asked by Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., how such a program is funded, Grusch claimed that the effort is “above congressional oversight” and bankrolled by a “misappropriation of funds.”
“Does that mean that there is money in the budget that is set to go to a program but it doesn’t and it goes to something else?,” Moskowitz asked.
“Yes. I have specific knowledge of that,” Grusch said, though he did not provide more details, claiming the information remains classified.
‘Nonhuman Biologics’ were Found at a Crash Site
Grusch, who underscored that he has not personally spotted a UAP, told the panel that he knows of “multiple colleagues” who were injured by UAPs. He also said he has interviewed individuals who have recovered “nonhuman biologics” from crashed UAPs.
Grusch said he prefers to use the term “nonhuman” rather than alien or extraterrestrial.
Asked by Rep. Eric Burlison, R-Mo., to substantiate the crashed UAPs claim, the former intelligence official said he could not divulge specific details, once again claiming the information was too sensitive to share with the public.
He did, however, describe the nature of what he saw: “I have to be very careful here … [but] what I personally witnessed, myself and my wife, was very disturbing.”
A Pentagon spokesperson told NBC News that Grusch’s claims are false.
Officials Must Establish a ‘Safe and Transparent Reporting Process’
Some lawmakers and witnesses pushed the federal government to establish clear channels to communicate UAP information with both the public and the military, and said the military should establish a comprehensive reporting process for unidentified objects sightings.
Ryan Graves, a former Navy pilot, told the panel that military pilots do not feel adequately briefed on UAPs, which he said leaves them unprepared to respond to UAP encounters.
The former Navy pilot claimed that commercial airline pilots have spotted UAPs too.
“There has to be a safe and transparent reporting process for pilots both on the commercial side and the military side to be able to report UAPs,” Garcia said.
Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., echoed the calls for more transparency. She noted that Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick, the director of the Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, had previously told Congress that there was “no credible” evidence of extraterrestrial life.
Grusch objected to Kirkpatrick’s claim, prompting Foxx to say that “contradiction is a perfect example of why we need to inject transparency into our government.”
Stigma Associated with Sightings ‘Silences’ Possible Witnesses
Some witnesses and lawmakers at the hearing argued that the stigma associated with reporting UFO sightings — as well as the alleged harassment of those who work to investigate them — may be hindering efforts to determine their origins.
Graves told the panel that stigma “silences” pilots who fear “professional repercussions,” which he said is “compounded by recent government claims questioning the credibility of eyewitness testimony.”
The Federal Aviation Administration has no mechanism for pilots to report UAPs, and instead directs them to civilian groups that are often dismissed as the domain of cranks and conspiracy theorists.
Those institutional hurdles led Graves to form a first-of-its-kind group that pushes for policy changes, serves as a hub for pilot whistleblowers and advocates for more disclosure by the military and other government agencies.
Lawmakers said they hoped the hearing could help assuage pilots’ fears of speaking out.
“This hearing will not be the end of this discussion, but a new chapter and start. We should encourage more reporting, and more study of UAPs,” Garcia said. “The more we understand, the safer we are.”
UFO Spotted Accelerating to ‘Supersonic Speeds’
David Fravor, a former Navy commander, said he and three fellow military pilots spotted a white Tic-Tac-shaped object in 2004, hovering below their jets and just above the Pacific Ocean.
As he descended to inspect the sighting, he claimed the unidentified aircraft — which he said bore no visible rotors, wings or exhaust — began to ascend and approach his fighter jet.
He claimed that the UAP then vanished, only to reappear a few seconds later, but this time it was spotted 60 miles away.
Fravor told the committee that the technology he and his team encountered defies logical explanation.
“The technology that we faced is far superior to anything that we had,” Fravor claimed. “And there’s nothing we can do about it, nothing.”
‘Man-Made’ UFOs Being Used for Drug & Human Trafficking
Dr. Steven Greer sheds some light on the ufo subject and reveals the reality of both manmade UFOs and UFOs from other planets. He also reveals the possibility of the alien subject being used to manufacture a fake alien threat to the earth, and exploit fear in the masses for more control and political gain by the globalists.
He also makes a stunning expose’ of manmade flying machines being used to abduct human beings and use them in experiments, slavery and human trafficking.
However, I disagree with his assessment that there is “no threat” from aliens from other planets. I was told from a high level government official of one of those alphabet agencies, that there was a threat from a specific alien culture from another planet. But that the distance was so great between planets, that an invasion/attack scenario would take years, even decades. Since that time, the US has been able to reverse engineer crashed space ships, and develop our own space ships and advanced weaponry to hopefully defend earth if and when it is attacked.
Even though there exists a possibility of an attack from an alien species, I don’t believe it is a major threat at this time. I also believe that there is a much greater threat from our own human conspirators that are abducting people for experiments and operating around and above the earth in a covert manner, that is diametrically opposed to human decency, unconstitutional and criminal. A covert group with advanced flying machines that operates above the law, cannot hide behind the protection and validation of “national defense”. They have by their own actions become the enemy of the people and have forfeit their right to exist.
We have to ask ourselves: Is this a nation of, by and for the people, or not? True American whistleblowers have asked themselves that question and had the sense of duty and courage to come forward to warn us of what is truly going on inside those underground bases.

What is the ‘Feared’ Project Blue Beam and Why Aliens and NASA Could Be Involved
Project Blue Beam was first exposed in the mid-1990s by Canadian investigative journalist Serge Monast – despite his death two years later, the theory has resurfaced in recent days.
The world is reeling from the possibility that the US shot down an alien spaceship earlier this month, but conspiracy theorists are claiming that it was actually to do with something called Project Blue Beam.
The Pentagon yesterday (Sunday, February 13) refused to rule out the possibility that three unidentified flying objects shot down in as many days over North America are of alien in origin.
While the gigantic “airship” that was shot down by US F-22 fighters on February 4 has been conclusively linked to China, the three other objects sighted over Alaska, Michigan and Canada have been harder to classify.
US Air Force General Glen VanHerck told reporters that the intelligence services were exploring “all possibilities” when it came to the origin of the “octagonal” craft.
When asked whether the involvement of “aliens or extraterrestrials” had been ruled out, he replied: “I’ll let the intel community and the counter-intelligence community figure that out. I haven’t ruled out anything.”
However, social media has been taken over by talk of something known as Project Blue Beam.
The bizarre theory – which has never been proven – claims that NASA and other US secret agents from the Pentagon teamed up to create a project creating fear and panic within the public, and to “turn them against religion”.
Using giant laser beam projections, it is thought that hyper-real giant alien space craft or even space-like beasts would be projected into the sky to create the illusion that an invasion is underway.
According to a 2008 report featured on several conspiracy sites, the project has three main purposes.
- To abolish all religions and replace them with a one-world religion based on the “cult of man”.
- Abolish all national identities to create a “one-world” movement.
- To remove the notion of “family” and force everyone to work for a new one-world Government.
The closest the world ever came to having solid proof of the project came by way of Canadian investigative journalist Serge Monast.
In 1994, he published an investigation piece into the project, and claimed that NASA and the United Nations wanted to create a “new age religion”, using technology to simulate the second coming of Christ.
However, he was arrested in 1995 and 1996 for being involved with “networks of prohibited information”.
He died of a heart attack at home just 24 hours after being released from jail after his second arrest.
Since his death, the theory has been one of the most popular among conspiracy lovers, but no further “proof” or investigations have taken place since.
That hasn’t stopped it from becoming the number one trend on Twitter over the last few days, however.
INTELLIGENCE OFFICIALS SAY U.S. HAS RETRIEVED CRAFT OF NON-HUMAN ORIGIN
💢 A former intelligence official turned whistleblower has given Congress and the Intelligence Community Inspector General extensive classified information about deeply covert programs that he says possess retrieved intact and partially intact craft of non-human origin. The information, he says, has been illegally withheld from Congress, and he filed a complaint alleging that he suffered illegal retaliation for his confidential disclosures, reported here for the first time.
Other intelligence officials, both active and retired, with knowledge of these programs through their work in various agencies, have independently provided similar, corroborating information, both on and off the record. The whistleblower, David Charles Grusch, 36, a decorated former combat officer in Afghanistan, is a veteran of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). He served as the reconnaissance office’s representative to the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force from 2019-2021. From late 2021 to July 2022, he was the NGA’s co-lead for UAP analysis and its representative to the task force.
The task force was established to investigate what were once called “unidentified flying objects,” or UFOs, and are now officially called “unidentified anomalous phenomena,” or UAP. The task force was led by the Department of the Navy under the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security. It has since been reorganized and expanded into the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office to include investigations of objects operating underwater.
Grusch said the recoveries of partial fragments through and up to intact vehicles have been made for decades through the present day by the government, its allies, and defense contractors. Analysis has determined that the objects retrieved are “of exotic origin (non-human intelligence, whether extraterrestrial or unknown origin) based on the vehicle morphologies and material science testing and the possession of unique atomic arrangements and radiological signatures,” he said.
In filing his complaint, Grusch is represented by a lawyer who served as the original Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG).
“We are not talking about prosaic origins or identities,” Grusch said, referencing information he provided Congress and the current ICIG. “The material includes intact and partially intact vehicles.”
In accordance with protocols, Grusch provided the Defense Office of Prepublication and Security Review at the Department of Defense with the information he intended to disclose to us. His on-the-record statements were all “cleared for open publication” on April 4 and 6, 2023, in documents provided to us.
Grusch’s disclosures, and those of non-public witnesses, under new protective provisions of the latest defense appropriations bill, signal a growing determination by some in the government to unravel a colossal enigma with national security implications that has bedeviled the military and tantalized the public going back to World War II and beyond. For many decades, the Air Force carried out a disinformation campaign to discredit reported sightings of unexplained objects. Now, with two public hearings and many classified briefings under its belt, Congress is pressing for answers.
Karl E. Nell, a recently retired Army Colonel and current aerospace executive who was the Army’s liaison for the UAP Task Force from 2021 to 2022 and worked with Grusch there, characterizes Grusch as “beyond reproach.”
Christopher Mellon, who spent nearly twenty years in the U.S. Intelligence Community and served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, has worked with Congress for years on unidentified aerial phenomena.
“A number of well-placed current and former officials have shared detailed information with me regarding this alleged program, including insights into the history, governing documents and the location where a craft was allegedly abandoned and recovered,” Mellon said. “However, it is a delicate matter getting this potentially explosive information into the right hands for validation. This is made harder by the fact that, rightly or wrongly, a number of potential sources do not trust the leadership of the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office established by Congress.”
But some insiders are now willing to take the risk of coming forward for the first time with knowledge of these recovery programs.
Jonathan Grey is a generational officer of the United States Intelligence Community with a Top-Secret Clearance who currently works for the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), where the analysis of UAP has been his focus. Previously he had experience serving Private Aerospace and Department of Defense Special Directive Task Forces.
“The non-human intelligence phenomenon is real. We are not alone,” Grey said. “Retrievals of this kind are not limited to the United States. This is a global phenomenon, and yet a global solution continues to elude us.”
At the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Grusch served as a Senior Intelligence Capabilities Integration Officer, cleared at the Top Secret/Secret Compartmented Information level, and was the agency’s Senior Technical Advisor for Unidentified Aerial Phenomena analysis/Trans-Medium Issues. From 2016 to 2021, he served with the National Reconnaissance Office as Senior Intelligence Officer and led the production of the NRO director’s daily briefing. Grusch was a GS-15 civilian, the military equivalent of a Colonel.
Grusch has served as an Intelligence Officer for over fourteen years. A veteran of the Air Force, he has numerous awards and decorations for his participation in covert and clandestine operations to advance American security.

3 UFOs Downed in 3 Days, Unprecedented Developments
In the past three days, three UFOs have been shot down over North America by the United States Air Force. Pentagon officials have called it unprecedented.
US President Joe Biden is in the loop and orders to shoot down the aircraft have come directly from him. He has also held consulation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as the United States and Canada jointly secure the North American airspace through their joint command called North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).
The first UFO was shot down over Alaska on Friday by a US F-22 fighter. It was described as cylindrical in shape. It’s not yet known if the fallen remains have been recovered.
The second UFO was shot down over Yukon region of North-western Canada on Saturday by a US F-22 fighter. It was also described as cylindrical in shape. It’s not yet known if the fallen remains have been recovered.
The US Department of Defense (DoD) on Saturday said NORAD first detected the second UFO on Friday over Alaska. The NORAD tracked the object as it entered Canada. The DoD said Biden and Trudeau held consultation and authorised its shoot-down. As a result, US and Canadian planes were deployed and subsequently a US F-22 shot down the UFO.
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are going to investigate the downed objects.
The third UFO was shot down over Lake Huron in Michigan state of the United State by a US F-16 fighter. The DoD said this UFO is likely the one that was spotted by radars over Montana on Saturday but could not be intercepted by fighters.
On Saturday, there was one case of a ‘false alarm’ over the US state of Montana. The NORAD observed suspicious activity over Montana on radars and the US government restricted flight activity in the region and deployed fighters. However, nothing was found. Subsequently, the airspace was opened.
What’s Known About the Three Downed UFOs?
In short, barely anything is known about the three downed UFOs — at least publicly. The details released by US and Canadian governments are scarce.
The origin and nature of the UFOs is not yet known. The status of the search and recovery operation of their remains is also not known.
However, it’s known that the first two UFOs were cylindrical in shape. It’s also known that the second UFO entered Canada from Alaska — where the first UFO was shot down on Friday.
Canadian Defence Minister Anita Anand has said the second UFO downed in Canada was at the height of 40-50,000 feet and was “small, cylindrical” in shape.
The third UFO shot down on Sunday has been described as octagonal in shape, as per Reuters.
The Associated Press reported that the United States and Canada cooperated to shoot down the UFO over Lake Huron —which extends into Canada— on Sunday. The AP reported an official as saying that the UFO was flying at a height of 20,000 feet — lower than the previous UFOs which were flying at 40-50,000 feet.
The AP reported that while the nature of the first two UFOs is still unknown, they were believed to have payloads.
“Both were believed to have a payload, either attached or suspended from them, according to the officials who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss the ongoing investigation…The three objects were much smaller in size, different in appearance and flew at lower altitudes than the suspected spy balloon,” reported AP.
The third UFO was also likely the same spotted over Montana a day before but that could not be confired, said US officials.
The third UFO did not have an apparent payload, reported AP. It reported, “According to a senior administration official, the object was octagonal, with strings hanging off, but had no discernable payload.”
Can’t Rule Out UFOs Having Alien Origin: Top general
The mystery around UFOs and tense airspace conditions over North America were further stoked by US Northern Command and NORAD Commander General Glen VanHerck’s saying that he would not rule out extraterrestrial —alien— origin of these UFOs.
Notably, though the popular imagination connects the term UFO with aliens, the UFO means any airborne objects that cannot be immediately identified.
VanHerck said he would not rule out any explanation for UFOs, including extraterrestrial —alien— origin.
“I’ll let the intel community and the counterintelligence community figure that out. I haven’t ruled out anything. At this point we continue to assess every threat or potential threat, unknown, that approaches North America with an attempt to identify it,” said VanHerck when asked about a possible alien-origin of these UFOs, as per Reuters.
Notably, though the unidentified objects in the skies are commonly called UFOs, the US government now formally uses the term unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) for such objects.
Mysterious Reports About Alaska UFO
Amid scarce information on the downed UFOs and the US military not ruling out alien-origin, reports have come attributing strange behaviour to the second UFO shot down in Alaska. US pilots have given differing accounts of the objects downed over Alaska on Friday.
The CNN reported, “Pilots gave different accounts of what they observed after coming near the object, a source briefed on the intelligence told CNN; some pilots said it ‘interfered with their sensors’, but other pilots said they didn’t experience that.”
ABC News reported that the pilots did not see any propulsion on the object over Alaska. In simple terms, a propulsion system is a machine that produces thrust to push the aircraft around.
“ABC News Chief Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz first reported that when fighters were scrambled, the pilots did visuals, got images and said there was no sign the object had propulsion. It was described as ‘cylindrical and silver-ish gray’ and seemed to be floating, a US official said,” reported ABC News.
Why Does All of This Matter?
Besides the foremost reason that shooting down of three UFOs in peacetime within domestic North American airspace is simply unprecedented, there is important background to the ongoing developments.
Firstly, the three UFOs were sighed and shot down after the Chinese spy balloon episode that raised the US-China tensions and raised the security concerns and readiness in the United States.
Secondly, the discourse on UFO —now formally called unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP)— has sharpened in recent months. A US government report released last month showed there are 510 UAP sightings, 171 of which are still unexplained.
The UAP activity has significantly increased in the past two years, according to CNN that cited the report.
The CNN reported, “The US government has received over 350 new reports of what the US government terms “unidentified aerial phenomenon,” commonly known as UFOs, since March of 2021 – roughly half of which are so far unexplained.”
Some of the famous UAP incidents involve US figher pilots tracking “tic tac” UFOs in 2014. They are named so as they appeared to be like tic tac pills. There is also the case of a mysterious orb flying over Iraq.
However, there is at least one indication that the current UFO episode might not be related to aliens, according to journalist and historian Garrett M Graff.
Graff noted on Twitter that the association of FBI with the investigation suggests that the US government believes there is no alien or extraterrestrial link of the downed objects.
“The Pentagon statements say the FBI is involved in the Canadian shootdown investigation — that implies a Earthly counterintelligence mission. The FBI has historically NOT been involved in extraterrestrial UFO investigations…the FBI’s involvement pretty clearly hints that the US/Canada/NORAD knows or believes these UFOs to be nation-state devices. So don’t worry about aliens yet,” said Graff, the author or upcoming book UFO: The Inside Story of the US Government’s Search for Alien Life Here―and Out There.
However, experts have criticsed President Biden’s role in the entire episode. Communications strategist Bryan Bender noted on Twitter that Biden needs to address the nation to assure them lest panic sets in.
He wrote, “I can’t help but ask: at this stage where is the president? This is unprecedented. Four objects in nine days shot down for violating North American airspace. We need to hear from President of the United States, if for nothing else to set the nation at ease and tamp down conspiracies.”
Graff also highlighted that the Biden White House is fucntioning as if everything is usual, which is not the case. The ongoing developments are unprecedented.
Sharing a tweet by Biden, Graph said, “It’s wild that the White House is tweeting random talking points while, you know, the military is regularly shooting down UFOs in US airspace.”

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence submitted to Congress a preliminary report regarding Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) that relays the progress the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force has made in understanding UAP.
“The Full UAP Intelligence Report was classified and sent to congress, insider sources confirm classified components of the report include; alien bodies, abductions, and advanced technologies will remain classified!”
✅ | On June 30, veteran UFO researcher Richard Dolan released a leaked summary of the classified version of the UAP report delivered to the US Senate five days earlier. The alleged summary asserts that members of Congress were informed of eight breakthrough propulsion technologies being studied and tested at Nevada’s Area 51 and Tonopah Test Range. None of the advanced propulsion technologies were deployed outside of these testing facilities, according to the summary, and therefore none of craft identified in the June 25 UAP report belong to the US.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The limited amount of high-quality reporting on unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) hampers our ability to draw firm conclusions about the nature or intent of UAP. The Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF) considered a range of information on UAP described in U.S. military and IC (Intelligence Community) reporting, but because the reporting lacked sufficient specificity, ultimately recognized that a unique, tailored reporting process was required to provide sufficient data for analysis of UAP events.
As a result, the UAPTF concentrated its review on reports that occurred between 2004 and 2021, the majority of which resulted from this new tailored process to better capture UAP events through formalized reporting. • Most of the UAP reported probably do represent physical objects, given that a majority of UAP were registered across multiple sensors, including radar, infrared, electro-optical, weapon seekers, and visual observation. In a limited number of incidents, UAP reportedly appeared to exhibit unusual flight characteristics.
These observations could be the result of sensor errors, spoofing, or observer misperception and require additional rigorous analysis. There are probably multiple types of UAP requiring different explanations based on the range of appearances and behaviors described in the available reporting. Our analysis of the data supports the construct that if and when individual UAP incidents are resolved, they will fall into one of five potential explanatory categories: airborne clutter, natural atmospheric phenomena, USG or U.S. industry developmental programs, foreign adversary systems, and a catchall “other” bin. UAP clearly poses a safety of flight issue and may pose a challenge to U.S. national security. Safety concerns primarily center on aviators contending with an increasingly cluttered air domain.
UAP would also represent a national security challenge if they are foreign adversary collection platforms or provide evidence a potential adversary has developed either a breakthrough or disruptive technology. Consistent consolidation of reports from across the federal government, standardized reporting, increased collection and analysis, and a streamlined process for screening all such reports against a broad range of relevant USG data will allow for a more sophisticated analysis of UAP, which is likely to deepen our understanding. Some of these steps are resource-intensive and would require additional investment.

The Preliminary Assessment: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena was released today from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
Members of the House Intelligence Committee received a quiet sneak peek of the bombshell report explaining that while the existence of alien life is questionable, any UFOs pose a major threat to national security.
The unidentified objects could be espionage assets used by adversaries of the US, which means the abundant phenomenons in the sky prove alarming for how up-to-date the country is on foreign espionage tactics.
“Of the 144 reports we are dealing with here, we have no clear indications that there is any non-terrestrial explanation for them — but we will go wherever the data takes us,” a senior US official said.

EXTRATERRESTRIALS OR FOREIGN FOES? REPORT SAYS NEITHER
Investigators also found no evidence to suggest the sightings represented either extraterrestrial life or a major technological advancement by a foreign foe, such as China or Russia.
“Of the 144 reports we are dealing with here, we have no clear indications that there is any non-terrestrial explanation for them — but we will go wherever the data takes us,” a senior US official said.
EXPAND DATA COLLECTION AND INCREASE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
“The UAPTF is looking for novel ways to increase collection of UAP cluster areas when U.S. forces are not present as a way to baseline ‘standard’ UAP activity and mitigate the collection bias in the dataset.
“One proposal is to use advanced algorithms to search historical data captured and stored by radars. The UAPTF also plans to update its current interagency UAP collection strategy to bring to bear relevant collection platforms and methods from the DoD and the IC.
“The UAPTF has indicated that additional funding for research and development could further the future study of the topics laid out in this report. Such investments should be guided by a UAP Collection Strategy, UAP R&D Technical Roadmap, and a UAP Program Plan.”
FAA ALSO MONITORS FOR ‘ANOMALIES’
“The FAA captures data related to UAP during the normal course of managing air traffic operations. The FAA generally ingests this data when pilots and other airspace users report unusual or unexpected events to the FAA’s Air Traffic Organization.”
“In addition, the FAA continuously monitors its systems for anomalies, generating additional information that may be of use to the UAPTF. The FAA is able to isolate data of interest to the UAPTF and make it available.”
“The FAA has a robust and effective outreach program that can help the UAPTF reach members of the aviation community to highlight the importance of reporting UAP.”
MOST DATA IS FROM US NAVY
“The majority of UAP data is from U.S. Navy reporting, but efforts are underway to standardize incident reporting across U.S. military services and other government agencies to ensure all relevant data is captured with respect to particular incidents and any U.S. activities that might be
relevant.”
“The UAPTF is currently working to acquire additional reporting, including from the U.S. Air Force (USAF), and has begun receiving data from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).”
ABILITY TO DIFFERENTIATE BALLOONS FROM UAP
“As the database accumulates information from known aerial objects such as weather balloons, high-altitude or super-pressure balloons, and wildlife, machine learning can add efficiency by pre-assessing UAP reports to see if those records match similar events already in the database.”
COLLECTING DATA TO DETECT TRENDS
“The UAPTF’s long-term goal is to widen the scope of its work to include additional UAP events documented by a broader swath of USG personnel and technical systems in its analysis.
“As the dataset increases, the UAPTF’s ability to employ data analytics to detect trends will also improve.”
POTENTIAL NATIONAL SECURITY CHALLENGES
“We currently lack data to indicate any UAP are part of a foreign collection program or indicative of a major technological advancement by a potential adversary.
“We continue to monitor for evidence of such programs given the counterintelligence challenge they would pose, particularly as some UAP have been detected near military facilities or by aircraft carrying the USG’s most advanced sensor systems.”
ONGOING AIRSPACE CONCERNS AND ‘NEAR MISSES’
“When aviators encounter safety hazards, they are required to report these concerns.
“Depending on the location, volume, and behavior of hazards during incursions on ranges, pilots may cease their tests and/or training and land their aircraft, which has a deterrent effect on reporting.”
“The UAPTF has 11 reports of documented instances in which pilots reported near misses with a UAP,” the report added.
OTHER POSSIBLE EXPLANATIONS
“Although most of the UAP described in our dataset probably remain unidentified due to limited data or challenges to collection processing or analysis, we may require additional scientific knowledge to successfully collect on, analyze and characterize some of them.”
“We would group such objects in this category pending scientific advances that allowed us to better understand them. The UAPTF intends to focus additional analysis on the small number of cases where a UAP appeared to display unusual flight characteristics or signature management.”
FOREIGN ADVERSARY SYSTEMS
“Some UAP observations could be attributable to developments and classified programs by U.S. entities. We were unable to confirm, however,
that these systems accounted for any of the UAP reports we collected.
“Some UAP may be technologies deployed by China, Russia, another nation, or a non-governmental entity.”
WHAT COUNTS AS AN AIRBORNE CLUSTER?
“These objects include birds, balloons, recreational unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), or airborne debris like plastic bags that muddle a scene and affect an operator’s ability to identify true targets, such as enemy aircraft.”
SOME UAPS DEMONSTRATE ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
18 out of 21 sightings seemed to demonstrate advanced technology.
“Some UAP appeared to remain stationary in winds aloft, move against the wind, maneuver abruptly, or move at considerable speed, without discernable means of propulsion. In a small number of cases, military aircraft systems processed radio frequency (RF) energy associated with UAP sightings.”
UAPS CLUSTER AROUND TRAINING AND TESTING GROUNDS
“UAP sightings also tended to cluster around U.S. training and testing grounds, but we assess that this may result from a collection bias as a result
of focused attention, greater numbers of latest-generation sensors operating in those areas, unit expectations, and guidance to report anomalies.”
SENSORS ‘NOT SUITED’ TO DETECT UAPS
“The sensors mounted on U.S. military platforms are typically designed to fulfill specific missions. As a result, those sensors are not generally suited for identifying UAP.”
This limits the data collection for this kind of report.
